Put Library Materials on Reserve

Print Materials

The Marine Resources Library will place print items from the library on reserve for course instructors.

Faculty may place materials on reserve for checkout periods of 2 hours, 4 hours, 1 day, or multiple days. Books, audiovisual materials and other physical items may be placed on reserve. Materials submitted for course reserve take a minimum of 3 working days to process from the time received. Please provide:

  1. Permalink to the item record in the library’s Discovery platform (look for the permalink icon in the Tools section of the record)
  2. The item title, year, and any edition, volume number
  3. The course name, course number, and semsester

Please submit reserve requests for print materials to the Librarian for Marine Resources at [email protected].

Electronic Materials

The College Libraries encourage the use of library eBooks, digital films, articles, and other electronic resources in your course curriculum. OAKS, the College’s Learning Management System, is the appropriate place to host electronic materials for a class. If you want to assign something from the library collection in your course, we recommend submitting the reserves request form so we can check access on our end. In some cases (particularly for e-books), we need to adjust our licensing to ensure all your students can access the material at the same time, for the entire semester.

After submitting your request, we will reach out to you if we need additional information and send you a course items link to share with your students.

Access to the MRRI building which houses the Marine Resources Library now requires your Fort Johnson gate pass at all times.

If you don't have a gate pass, please call one of the phone numbers posted at the front door to be let in.
